Last updated

Background

On March 20, an executive order calling for the closure of the Department of Education was announced. We will monitor the implementation of this order, and update the community as more information is known about impacts to the University.

On February 14, the University received guidance from the Department of Education indicating the Department’s interpretation of current law in relation to admissions, spending, programs and other activities identified to be discriminating on the basis of race.

In addition, the administration issued an Executive Order (EO) indicating that federal funds will be withheld from higher ed institutions with a COVID-19 vaccine mandate. The University does not require COVID-19 vaccination for the vast majority of students, with limited exceptions existing within medical education to complete rotations or clinical training in hospitals.
