    School of Nursing dean Connie White Delaney has received the Healthcare Information and Management Systems Society - Alliance for Nursing (HIMSS-ANI) Nursing Informatics Leadership Award for her significant leadership contributions to optimize health engagements and care outcomes through information and technology. The award is given to an individual for success and achievement as a nursing informatics leader in a provider, supplier, or academic organization, or a professional society. The recipient is selected jointly by the HIMSS Board of Directors and the Governing Directors of the Alliance for Nursing Informatics.

Optica is a society dedicated to promoting the generation, application, archiving, and dissemination of knowledge in the field of advancing optics and photonics worldwide. Legge is specifically being honored for “revolutionizing the field of low-vision research and applying his knowledge to aid and improve reading and mobility in people with low vision.”

  • Rombalski receives Early Career Award from Association of American Educational Research

The Grassroots Community and Youth Organizing SIG aims to advance research on community and youth organizing, particularly in low income communities and communities of color.

  • Bishop recognized for sustainability efforts

    Laura Bishop, chair of the Humphrey School Dean’s Advisory Council and an adjunct faculty member, recently received the Women in Sustainability Leadership Award. The awards are presented annually to 10 women from around the world. Bishop has over 20 years of experience working in sustainability in both the private and public sectors, including as an executive at Best Buy and as commissioner of the Minnesota Pollution Control Agency.

The #1 Blue Ridge ranking for 2023 reflects the combined sum of NIH grants awarded to family medicine faculty working in the following four units: Department of Family Medicine and Community Health; the newly joined Division of Physical Therapy; the Department of Family Medicine and Biobehavioral Health; and the Memory Keepers Medical Discovery Team.
